Now here’s a bargain for ya – the Sussex Sonics hockey game against the Saint Stephen Spatans on Friday afternoon is free to all SRHS students and staff! Along with the great Sonics/Spartans game, there will be games at intermission, chuck-a-puck, and much more.

All Green Club members met with Mme Belliveau today at noon and the Metal Club got together at noon today.

Grade 11 students interested in Math enrichment or in preparing for the Format Math Competition met in the math center during noon today.

A very important announcement for Guys and Dolls cast – rehearsal today is at 3:45 until 5:30. All that Jazz rehearsal is at 5:30 until 6:15.

Band with Mr. Ross is cancelled this week.

The Sonics hockey team travelled to Rothesay last night to play the Rothesay Redhawks, tying a very close game 3-3. Goals were scored by Mike Brown, Kevin Armstrong and Trevor Seymour.

Both the ladies’ and men’s varsity basketball teams are hosting KV tonight. The action starts at 5:30, so don’t miss it. These are the 2 biggest games of the season, get out and support your Sonics!

The cafeteria will be closed on Friday, December 18th.

There will be a brief dance committee meeting in Miss Cook’s room Wednesday at 12:20

Grade 10 students interested in Math Enrichment met in the Math Center during noon today and the International Relations Club met for a short meeting today in Mrs. Zwicker’s Room.

It’s finally here…the Green Bingo! If you have not passed in your baseball uniform you will not be permitted to go to the Christmas formal.

Tickets for the $500 visa gift card will be on sale today until Friday. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5. There are only 500 tickets available so get yours now. The winner will be announced at the hockey game on Friday.

All grade 11 students who need to write their Catcher in the Rye final test will do it tomorrow at noon hour, not today.

The Reach for the Top practice will be on Thursday this week, at 12:25 in room 2094.

There is a very important Guys and Dolls rehearsal today at 3:45-5:30. If you cannot attend, you must let a drama advisor know.

This week’s Sonic of the week awards go to Jamie Richardson for her hard work and improvement in English class, Amanda Parisella for returning a kindness to Ms. Papineau this week and Alyssa Brown for spreading her sunshine around SRHS. Our honourary staff Sonic award goes to Mrs. Julie Stone for the professional development work she did with SRHS staff this week. Her sessions were beneficial and refreshing to all who attended. Thanks to all our Sonic award recipients and Congrats!

The Grad Class would like to announce the school wide event of Ugly Sweater Day of December 16th! So break out your most outrageous knits for next Wednesday and get into the festive spirit.

There is a very important “Guys and Dolls” rehearsal today at 3:45 in the theatre. If you cannot attend, you must contact one of the drama advisors. A full schedule will be given out today.

Grade 9 students preparing for the Pascal Math Competition met in the Math Center during noon today.

There was a book club meeting today at lunch as well.

THE SRHS/SMS VARIETY CHRISTMAS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED TONIGHT DUE TO THE PENDING STORM. THERE IS NO ALTERNATE DATE FOR THIS CONCERT DUE TO OTHER EVENT COMMITMENTS. SORRY FOR THE INCONTINENCE.

The Improv team meeting scheduled for today after school has been cancelled due to the pending storm.

Grade 11 students preparing for the Fermat Math Competition met in the Math Centre during noon hour today.

The International Relations Club will be selling Christmas candygrams at noon in the lobby everyday until December 16th. For 50 cents you can purchase a candycane with a message card and write a Christmas message to a secret admirer. The candygrams will be delivered next week during SSR time. The proceeds from the candygrams will go to help a family in the community to receive the fixings for their Christmas Dinner. Don’t forget to bring 50 cents tomorrow for a candygram.

Anyone planning to perform in next week’s coffee house should see Mr. Swift in the Biology Lab ASAP.

Attention under 18 volleyball girls – we will practice at 7:15 am on Friday. BE ON TIME!

Attention Graduates! For the next two days you will have the opportunity to vote for the 2010 Prom theme. A table will be set up at noon today and Thursday with ballots for you to fill out. Your three choices are Garden of Eden, A Night at the Oscars, and New York New York. Make sure you vote!

Yearbooks will be on sale in the lobby starting today until Dec 17th. Right now they cost $45 but will go up after Christmas break. Get yours soon to avoid the price jump.

Tickets for the Winter Formal are going on sale Thursday through until sometime next week, in the lobby during lunch. They cost $8 for grads and $20.00 for a couple.

The time is here again, Christmas time! The time of giving and celebrating with the family. Sounds awesome right? Only downside, how do you give a gift to someone who has everything and more? Try giving the gift of water this holiday season. Come see us in the lobby at noon December 9 to 11.

Grads please remember that your grad write ups and surveys MUST be submitted by this Saturday Dec 12th. If they are not submitted by then we will send in the pages without your addition.

Grads who had their photo taken by Oaktree photography are asked to check in the office to see if their picture is there and that it is the correct pose. If there are any problems let Mr. Gaunce know by Wednesday at noon.

Grade 10 students who are preparing for the Cayley Math Competition met in the Math Center during noon hour today.

All yearbook staff please check the calendar on the yearbook door to sign up for selling times this week.

Reminder of the variety show tomorrow at 7pm here in our theatre.

You are a mean one Mr. Grinch! Safe grad is selling candy-cane grams for 50 cents at lunch all week. Help to spread some holiday cheer.

SRHS’ Green Club presents the “Green Game” yet again this year! On December 17th during SSR we will be hosting SRHS’ annual Green Bingo game. Buy your Bingo card before everyone else all this week and get our special offer! This week only when you buy 2 cards at $2 each get 2 other cards for free! After this week the game cards will be $2 or 3 for $5. All proceeds will go towards helping Green Club members pay to go to the Envirothon NB Competition in May and to buy commercial recycling bins for our cafeteria and lobby. The cards will be on sale in the lobby this week or ask Mme. Belliveau, Mme Bonnell or Mlle Morneault.

There was a Band meeting, a Green Club meeting and a Safe Grad meeting today at noon.

There will be curling today after school. New Curlers are welcome.

A reminder to Kidstuff Theatre ushers and lighting crew – tonight’s show begins at 6:30 in the theatre.

There will be an all cast rehearsal for Guys and Dolls after school on Thursday until 5:30.

Congratulations to the Reach for the Top senior teams for placing 4th and 5th at the Rothesay Netherwood tournament this past Saturday. SRHS was well represented!

There was a Book Club meeting, a Suicide Awareness Group meeting, a Reach for the Top meeting, a Math Competitions meeting, and an Acoustic Guitar Club meeting all today at noon. Wow! We are a busy school!

This weeks Sonic of the Week awards go to Lilly Lisson, Brandon Mallory, Crystal Tays, and A. J. Heath for helping to make a great video for the LINK Program and for inspiring others to do so as well. Mitchell Baskin is a Sonic of the Week for his great work in Business Organization and Management Class. Michelle Morrison is being Celebrated for always thinking of others and for organizing a fundraiser for her homeroom to raise money for Plan Canada, to provide underprivileged children in the third world countries with a special gift this Christmas. Because of her idea, her homeroom has set a goal to raise $1000 by the end of the semester to supply water for an entire community. Way to go Michelle! Mrs. Stockton’s homeroom class is being celebrated for raising $200 (20% of their goal) in only 4 days for their Plan Canada class fundraiser. Mrs. Patricia Stout is our Super Staff Sonic of the week for being such a wonderful, knowledgeable librarian. Thanks for all you do! Congrats to all our Sonic Award Recipients!
