There was a Christmas Care Drive meeting, a boys hockey meeting, a girls Anonymous practice and a call back for Fame meeting today at noon.

The JV and Senior boys basketball teams will be hosting Harbourview tonight. The JV boys play at 5:30 and the Senior boys at 7:15. Come on out and support the boys.

There will be a sharing circle in Mr. Scott’s class Wednesday at noon. Only room for 15, so if interested please sign up in Mr. Scott’s room asap.

There is a list of props and costumes posted on the bulletin board by the theatre need for Anonymous. Please bring these things in on Thursday.

Mr. Whites advisory is doing a food drive for the Sussex Food Bank. Our goal is to fill the Jetta 2009 drag car within the 12 days before Christmas. Please bring in non perishable food items before December 17. The drag care will be out front by the flags. Let’s make the Sonics proud!

Don’t forget to get your Grad Christmas Semi-Formal tickets before they are sold out….they will be on sale until Friday in the main office at 12:15.

Safe Grad variety show is Thursday, December 2 at 7:30 in the theatre.

There will be curling practice today after school. If you have any questions please ask Mrs. Leger.

The Lady Sonics won two very important League games this week. They travelled to Saint John to defeat SJHS 52-48 after trailing by 12 at halftime. Sarah Meehan was the leading scorer with 16 points and Courtney Clement was the player of the game. On Saturday they travelled to St. Stephen and won 68-52. Leading scorers were Taneesha Dalling with 18 points and Sarah Holt with 15. This week the girls travel to Rothesay and Simonds.

Attention set workers who usually stay after school on Wednesdays – this week we will stay tomorrow (Tuesday) instead of Wednesday as Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Eisner have another commitment on Wednesday. See you tomorrow!

There was a drag team meeting, a dance committee meeting and a combined grad class/safe grad/student council meeting today at noon.

The JV Girls Basketball team travelled to Simmonds tournament on the weekend. We lost to St. Macs 38-23, lost to Harborview 45-22, and lost to Simonds 49-27. Tenna Reid was named an all-star.

Potential graduates this message is for you – There are only 2 weeks left to have your graduation portrait sitting done with Oak Tree Photography. December 10th is the deadline in order to have your portrait make the submission deadline to be in this year’s yearbook. Don’t delay…contact Oak Tree right away to book your sitting.

There is a dance Friday December 3rd at 7:00.

All the guys and gals who have signed up for DTC Host and Hostesses met with Mrs. Frazee today at noon. There was a dance committee meeting, a year book members meeting, a tech club meeting and a safe grad meeting today at noon as well.

The Sonic girls hockey team travels to St. Stephen tonight for a 7pm game against the Spartans. All fans are encouraged to get on the road and support their lady Sonics.

The Norton Recreation Council will be holding a dance for students of SMS and SRHS on Friday November 26th at the Norton Legion. Dance starts at 9pm and will run until 11pm with a canteen available. Admission is a non perishable food item to be donated to the local food bank.

The JV Girls’ basketball team is traveling to Saint John High for a 5:30 pm game against the Greyhounds so if you’re in Saint John tonight come on down and lend your support.

There is a girls’ rugby fitness practise today in the gym from 5:30- 7:30pm.

There has been a heart shaped locket necklace lost . If you happen to have found it, please turn it into the office to be returned to its rightful owner.

The varsity Sonic boys basketball team defeated Simonds in their home opener by a score of 117-94. Nick Huggard led the way with 48 points. The Sonics go to St. Stephen on Thursday.

The JV Boys Basketball team lost 72-50 to Simonds last night. Top scorers for the Sonics were Brandon Moore with 13 points and 19 rebounds, Mitchell Folkins with 11 points and Michael Tays with 9 points. Their next home game for the JV Sonics is next Tuesday when they play Harbour View.

Attention set workers and costuming girls – We will not be meeting today after school due to the middle school production of Aladdin.

The cast of Anonymous has a practice today after school in Mr. Polley’s room 2043.

The culinary students of SRHS held a bake sale at the 10 minute break this afternoon. We have wonderful baking skills here at SRHS.

The Varsity Boys Hockey team lost a very close game on Saturday night 4-3 in overtime to the Rothesay Red Hawks. Philippe Cassault scored his first goal as a Sonic and added another along with Nathan Brown scoring one. The boys next game will be Wednesday night at home against the Hampton Hukies game time is 8:30. Come on out and cheer on your Sonics. Good Luck Boys!

Christmas Dinner tickets are now available from the cafeteria at $6.00. The December 14th dinner includes turkey, potatoes, gravy, dressing, vegetables m milk, roll and dessert.

All grad elementary school photos are postponed until next week.

There will be high school curling today after school for anyone interested. See Mrs. Leger for more information.

Would the 11 students involved with Mr. Scott’s and Mme Morneault’s “Beyond the Hurt” training meet in Mr. Scott’s room Wednesday at noon. If you can’t make it please see Mr. Scott before then.

Attention Graduates – Starting Monday November 29th tickets for the Grad Christmas semi-formal dance will be on sale in the main office. Tickets are $8 per grad, $16 per grad couple or $20 per grad with a non grad date. Only 200 tickets are available so purchase your tickets from Mrs. Gillies beginning Monday, November 29th.

The JV Girls basketball team lost to Harbour View last night in the Sonic Dome by a score of 80 to 31. Jenna Reid had 11 points while Alison Murphy had 9 points. Next game for the Sonics is this Saturday at 1:00 pm when they take on St. Stephen, so come on out and support your Sonics.

Mrs. Hill’s travel group will meet today at 3:30 in the art room.

Any after school “Fame” auditions today will take place in Ms. Eisner’s room. Noon auditions are held in Mr. Hachey’s room.

Have you heard of Zumba? Would you like to give it a try? If you are interested in doing a fun and fast paced work-out, join us in the Library every Monday and Wednesday at 3:45. Cost is $5.

There was a Tech crew meeting in the theatre today at noon.

Any Green Club member who is interested in taking part in the Envirothon this year met with Mme Bonnell-Walsh after the announcements today to receive their forms and discuss the competition.

Basketball home opener tonight! JV Girls play Harbourview at 5:30pm. Varsity girls play Harbourview at 7:15pm. $2.00 general admission.

The varsity men’s hockey team lost a tough game to the Rothesay Red Hawks last night in Rothesay. Despite being up 3-1 going into the third period. The Red Hawks turned it up to make the final score 6-3. Kevin Armstrong notched two goals for the Sonics and Evan Gass also had a goal. The boys next game will be tomorrow night as they head to Saint John to play the St. Macs Saints. Good Luck Boys!

The students travelling to Greece will be meeting in Rm 2025 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. All group members are to be in attendance on one of these days.

Attention graduates – How would you like to be part of a time capsule DVD done by our journalism class? We will begin interviews next week between 9:05 & 10am. Come sign up in the office for a 15 minute time slot. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? The capsule DVD will be shown at the 10 year reunion. Grads only!

It’s Dariytown Classic Time! The Dairytown Classic is looking for Hostesses and Hosts for the upcoming Dairytown Classic in February. If you are in grade twelve and would like to be an ambassador for your school and accompany a basketball team during the tournament please sign up in the office. You can see Mrs. Frazee for details.

There will be a yearbook committee meeting in Rm 1121 on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 12:45. All yearbook members must attend.

The weekly meeting of our Grad Class members will be Wednesday at 12:20 in Mr. Jeffrey’s room.

Attention variety show participants – If you signed up with Mr. MacKay for the December 2nd variety show, you were supposed to see Mr. Swift in the Biology Lab at noon today.

There was a dance committee meeting, and an intermediate Reach for the Top practice today at noon.

Don’t forget – “Fame” auditions start tomorrow. If you have not yet sighed up for an audition time or picked up your audition form, get to the theatre doors asap.

The Varsity Men’s Hockey team lost a hard fought game to the St. Stephen Spartans 5-4 in overtime. Jeremy Vincent scored his first goal as a Sonic and Jared McKenna, Evan Gass and Kevin Armstrong all added 1 each. The Sonics next game will be tonight in Rothesay against the Red Hawks. Game time is 7:45pm. Good luck boys!

The Town of Sussex is looking for 6 volunteers to help with the Santa Clause Parade on Dec 4th. If you would like to help please leave your name and contact information in the office.

The men’s varsity hockey team will begin their season tomorrow night against the St. Stephen Spartans. Game time is 8:30. Come on out and cheer on your Sonics!
