Today was the last day to buy your yearbook with personalization.

Safe Grad is putting on a Black-Tie Affair event for Grads only. It will be held February 5th and tickets will go on sale again at the beginning of 2nd semester.

This weeks Sonics of the Week are Kelsey Burgess for her great work in English and Kory Mason for working had to stay caught up in Graphic Art class. A HUGE Sonic Boom goes out to all students and staff who generously donated and helped collect donations for our Haiti relief fund. Your donations will make a difference.

All of the girls who are planning to play age class basketball for Miss Doney and Miss Scott attended a brief meeting at noon today in Mr. Belyea’s room.

The Bookclub meeting was cancelled today but there was a brief Suicide Prevention meeting today at noon.

The Saint John Midget AAA Vito’s will be playing in Sussex at the 8th Hussars against the Miramichi Riverman on Sunday, February 7th. Plan to come out and see two of our Sonics playing. Game time is 5:00.

OK SUPER SONICS – Tomorrow is the last morning that someone will be around to collect for Haiti and the jar in the office will be gone after tomorrow too. I am so very pleased to say the HUGE jar is half full. YOU ROCK SONICS! Let’s see if we can fill it tomorrow – Dig Deep!

16/20 Youth Group is cancelled tonight due to the weather.

Safe Grad is putting on a black tie affair event for grads only. It will be held on February 5th and tickets went on sale today.

There was a boys hockey meeting today in Mr. Leger’s room at noon.

Dig Deep Super Sonics! Don’t forget to bring in all the money you can spare to be donated to our Haiti relief fund. There will be someone coming around to classrooms during SSR and there is a bottle in the office.

There was a “Braking Dawn” book found at the front of the school. It can be claimed in the office.

Mr. Ross was here at noon today for band. All band students met in the music room at 12:25.

Prom Committee met today with Mme Bonnell but the Grad Class meeting was cancelled.

There was half-time at the rink at noon today. Those who attended enjoyed a free lunch of Kraft dinner.

Yearbooks will be on sale Monday and Wednesday this week. this will be your last chance to buy your yearbook with personalization. Cost is $50 plus $5 for personalization and $2.50 for icons. Any books purchased after exams will come at a cost of $55 and will be subject to availability.

Dig deep Sonics! Someone will be around every morning this week collecting donations for Haiti relief and there is a jar in the office as well. Please donate to this worthy cause.

There was no Reach for the Top practice today.

Members of the JV Girls Basketball team and Varsity Girls Softball team met with Mr. Belyea at noon today.

Prom Committee will be meeting tomorrow at lunch in Mme Bonnell’s room 2053. All dance committee members are invited to come. Also, we are still looking for grade 9/10/11 volunteers.

This week’s recipients of the Sonic of the Week awards are Jesse Losier, Emily Cummings and Alex Hachey.
Jesse is being celebrated because he has been coming in for extra help with Math on his own time. Keep up the good work Jess. Emily is being celebrated for making huge progress in a personal goal that requires self-discipline. Congratulations on you achievements Emily. And Alex is being celebrated for not missing a single requirement in a course that is challenging in every way. Keep up the good work Alex. This week’s Staff Sonic of the Week awards go to Ms. Cook for her organization of our fun school dances and to Mr. McKiel for kindly donating his time and music to DJ our dances. Thanks for all you do!

Congratulations to Rebecca Isbill and Mrs. Betts the winners of comfy seats at the Dairy Town Classic. The girls who met with Haley Doney and Katie Titus about midget age class basketball met in Mr. Belyea’s room at 2:20 today.

There will be a container in the office on Monday morning for all your loose change. Dig deep Sonics…this money is going to help with the relief efforts in Haiti.

Attention Guys & Dolls – Choreography today with Michelle Brewer at 3:45-5:30 for all cast and 6-8 for the gamblers.

Last night in the Sonic Dome our JV Girl Sonics basketball team defeated the Simonds High Seebees 54 to 42 to capture the JV Challenge trophy at the Dairy Town classic. Alison Murphy led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Ellen Sharp had 9 points and 8 rebounds, Jenna Miller had 8 points, and Mackenzie McQuinn had 7 points. Olivia Bradley led the way with 13 rebounds. The girls played a great defensive game holding Simonds to only 15 points in the second half. Alison Murphy was named game MVP.

The boys hockey team travels to Hampton tonight to faceoff against the Hampton Huskies. Game time is 7:15.

There was Half-Time today at noon upstairs in the 8th Hassars. Those who attended enjoyed a free lunch of Kraft dinner.

We are 2 days away from the return of the Dairytown Classic! Get your passes from Mrs. Frazee. Student passes are $5 and adult passes are $15. Check the schedule on our website to know when to come out and cheer on your Sonics.

SRHS students working fro the Beth Powning Book Launch this Friday were asked to meet in the Library for a short meeting today at noon.

If you haven’t heard, the school will be attending the Sonic Varsity Men’s and Ladies’ basketball games on Friday afternoon. We are selling tickets for the VIP couch in the lobby today. The winner will not only have a comfortable seat, but will win 2 passes to the DTC for the weekend. Buy your tickets today, only $1 each.

The baby pictures the grads submitted for the yearbook are now available in the office for pick up.

There was a Safe Grad meeting in room 2097 at 12:45.

The schedule for the Dairy Town Classic is now on our school website. Make sure to check out when your Sonics play so you can get out and cheer them on!

All boys interested in playing rugby this spring are asked to see Mr. Sherwood in room 1055.

There will be a girls circle at SRHS on January 15th. We are looking for 8-10 grade 11 girls to participate. What is a girls circle? It is a group designed to foster self-esteem, help girls maintain authentic connection with peers and adult women in their community, decrease self-doubt, and allow for genuine self-expression sharing and activities. If you are interested , pleas see Mrs. Byers or Mrs. Ross in the guidance centre.
