The metal club met today at noon for a special event, there was Yoga in the Aux gym and there was a football presentation from representatives of UNB and the Atlantic football League.

Interested in taking up a trade? Not sure what is available or how to proceed? The Work Room presents Carmen Blois, Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Counsellor, who will be making a presentation on apprenticeship for students April 7th during lunch and for the community April 7th at 6 pm at SRHS. Please sign up for the event in the Guidance Office.

Congrats to the cast of Guys & Dolls. Opening night was fantastic and the talk of the town! Tickets for tonight will be available at the door as well as Sobeys and Connie’s Collectables.

Dodge Ball Intramurals – The final four are set with the winners today going into the final next Wednesday. At 12:30 team 1 (The Dodgers) takes on team 5 and at 12:50 team 6 (Dodgeemon) plays team 3 (The Bandits).

Softball club meets tonight right after the boys volleyball match. So come on out around 7:30 pm.

Post-Easter Grad Pot Luck next Wednesday, April 7th at 6pm. Sign up in the lobby second half of lunch Wednesday, Thursday, and next Tuesday. Hope to see you there!

Band practice was cancelled today because of the indoor noon at the middle school. Mr. Ross apologizes.

All showgirls met in the theatre for a short costume meeting today at noon.

There was Half-Time at the rink today at noon. Many students enjoyed a free lunch of KD.

There will be student yoga tomorrow at 12:30 – 1:00 in the aux gym.

Notice to ALL high school football players (varsity and bantam age players) – there is a meeting on Wednesday, March 31st in room 1118, (Mr. Barton’s Room) at 12:20, with a presentation from UNBSJ staff about their football program and the Atlantic football league.

Anybody who can help with prom stars please go to room 2053 tomorrow and Thursday.

Guys and Dolls opens tonight at 7:30. Get your tickets so not to miss out on a great production!

There was a Green Club meeting, a boys hockey meeting, and a Safe Grad meeting today at noon.

There will be a boys rugby practice tonight at 7pm in the gym.

It’s that time of year again! The spring musical Guys & Dolls is playing in the SRHS theatre Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and two shows on Saturday. So get your tickets at Sobeys or Connie’s Collectables ASAP. You do not want to miss this amazing show!

Attention SRHS for some exciting news…It’s coming soon! Guys and Dolls is opening on Tuesday night so run out and get your tickets. You won’t want to miss this hilarious musical comedy! 7:30 – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and two shows on Saturday.

More Guys and Dolls news – all Cuba dancers including Samba and Hot Hot Hot met in the theatre at noon.

Students who wrote the University of Waterloo Math Competition may get their results by seeing Mrs. Bishop in the Math center.

Congratulations to all of our Sonics of the Week!

Guys and Dolls announcement – Next week is show week so be sure to pick up your tickets at Sobeys or Connie’s Collectables. It’s going to be a fantastic show you won’t want to miss! HOT HOT HOT dancers met with

Miss Folkin’s in the theatre at noon. Also, Baleigh Folkins and the ushers met in the theatre at 12:20.

The Yearbook committee met today at noon.

All rugby SRHS rugby players were asked to go to the gym area after the announcements for team pictures.

Any girls who are planning on playing soccer this summer met with Miss Stockton at noon today.

There was a Prom Committee meeting and a Metal Club meeting today at noon.

Congratulations to our French Immersion students who walked away with several medals at last night’s “Concours d’Art Oratoirs” in Hampton. Bronze metals went to Laura Sponagle Grade 10 Late French Immersion, Jenna Miller Grade 9 Late French Immersion, Samuel Wilson Grade 10 Early French Immersion. Silver medal went to Grade 12 student Jasmine Hebert who will be moving onto the Provincials.

Softball Club is cancelled for tonight but will resume next Wednesday.

In 2009 hundreds of millions of people around the world showed their support by turning off their lights for one hour. Earth Hour 2010, this Saturday, will continue to be a global call to action. The Green Club is inviting everyone to turn off their lights on Saturday March 27th starting at 8:30 pm for an hour. Take action! Show what can be done!

Congratulations to the Sussex Bantam AA Rangers who won the Day of Champions in grand Bay on Saturday night – Travis Gray, Matt Beyer, Bryce Worden, Brett Norrad, Jacob McLaughlin, Matt Crowe, Nathan Brown, Jed Webster and Mark Tabor who scored and Mitchell Parlee with two goals.

The Green Club would like to congratulate Rachel Barrett for finding the most frogs and winning the grand prize.

There was a Safe Grad meeting and a Green Club meeting today at noon.

The schedule resumes today with team 1 playing team 7 at 12:30 and team 3 playing team 5 at 12:50. Playoffs begin for everyone on Wednesday of this week. Check the playoff schedule in the gym to see when you play.

Don’t forget to come and have fun at our Hollywood Video Dance tonight from 7-10pm. Dress up as a celebrity and enjoy the famous feel of the paparazzi.

Suffering from Olympic withdrawal? Come see the Sussex Skating Club Ice Show tomorrow Saturday, March 20th – “Olympic Dreams” show times are 2pm and 7pm. Students $5.00.

A huge thank you to students Kim Maguire and Rachel Barrett who worked so hard to promote their favorite book, Amphibian, and to draw attention to the serious issue of climate change. They did a great job representing SRHS as they hosted and introduced author Carla Gunn for her presentations yesterday. And to the Green Club, Mme. Bonnell-Walsh and Mme. Belliveau for organizing a week filled with GREEN frogs and interesting environmental factoids.

The Envirothan members met with Mme. Belliveau at 12:20 today.

Our first Sonics of the week this week are Andrew McLean and Neil Symington. They are being celebrated for being top skiers. Both Andrew and Neil are members of the Canada East Ski Team attending the Canadian Juvenile Nationals to be held in Collingwood, Ontario March 22-26. Good luck Andrew and Neil! All of SRHS is cheering you on! Corey McEwen, Cody McLean, and Andrew Mercer are being celebrated for taking the initiative to clean up the student parking lot of litter. It looks a lot better and your efforts are certainly appreciated! This week we are also celebrating our Sonics who placed in the District 6 Science Fair last week. We are celebrating: Marcus Robinson who placed 2nd in grade 9; Jeremy Vincent and Nathan Brown for placing 3rd in grade 9; Aaron Waugh and Michael Phillips for placing 1st for grade 10; Samuel Wilson for placing 2nd for grade 10; Ira Sheasby for placing 1st for grade 11 and Robert Dunfield for placing 2nd for grade 11. Miss. Cook is our Sonic Staff Member of the week. She is being celebrated for her leadership with Science students as they attended and faired will at the District Science fair. Congratulations to all of our Sonics of the Week!
