Announcements for November 29, 2012

Welcome to everyone to the Variety Show this evening at 7:30 in the theatre. Bring $5 and enjoy the show!

This is a reminder to Key Club members that the Rockathon will NOT be held tonight. It is postponed to a later date and will be discussed at the meeting on Monday.

Today, R3volve will meet in the cafeteria at lunch. Bring a friend and your lunch and have some fun.

The Girls’ Hockey Team will play St. Macs again this Saturday evening here in Sussex. Watch the school website (click on Activities and Events) to check dates and times for all school events.

The Sunday night volleyball for girls is cancelled until after Christmas.

Variety Show performers are asked to pick up a lineup for tonight’s show from Mr. Swift at noon today.

There will be a Safe Grad meeting today at lunch.

There is a mandatory Dance Committee meeting in Ms. Cook’s room after the announcements.

The J.V. Girls’ Sonics are at home tomorrow night against the Fredericton Black Kats at 6:00 p.m.

SMBA is offering a scorekeeping clinic at Sussex Middle School today – come at the 3:30 dismissal.

Announcements for November 27, 2012

All members of the SRHS Band are to bring their instruments to Mr. McEachern’s room at noon for a yearbook picture. There will be band practice today after school until 4:45 pm.

Homework Club is cancelled today, Tuesday, November 27.

There is a Yearbook meeting today at 12:15.

Students who wish to work on the Water Bottle Project, please come to the art room from 3:30 to 5:00. Also, set work will be on Wednesday this week instead of Thursday.

The Varsity Sonics Boys’ Basketball Team play tonight in the Sonic Dome at 7:15 against St. Macs and the J.V.s play at 5:30. The Girls’ Varsity and J.V. Teams travel to K.V. to play the Crusaders.

The SMBA is offering a scorekeeping clinic at SMS on Wednesday, November 28, at 3:00 p.m. If high school students wish to join this clinic, go directly to Sussex Middle School at our 3:30 dismissal tomorrow.

GSA will meet in Room 1119 on Wednesday at noon.

Boys Varsity Basketball Team, please note the change in time–we are leaving from Tim Hortons at 5:15 p.m.

Students working with Ms. Hill and Mr. Polley on the enrichment project “From Your Own Backyard,” please attend a very important meeting with Mount Alison faculty today at 3:30 to 5:00 in the Art Room.

The Girls’ Hockey Team is playing Saint John High this Saturday here in Sussex. Come to cheer on your Sonics.

Volleyball Girls, this Sunday’s volleyball is cancelled. See you next Sunday.

The J.V. Girls Basketball host the Cow Bell Classic today at 4:45 against St. Stephen at the “Sonic Dome” — our gym.

There will be a Girls’ Rugby meeting today at noon in Mr. Belyea’s room after the announcements.

The Boys Hockey Team travel to St. Stephen for a tournament this weekend—good luck!

Announcements for November 21, 2012

Auditions for next week’s variety show begin at 12:30 today—listen for your scheduled time.

Students who wish to help with sets for the play or with the Water Bottle project please meet in the Art Room after school on Thursday until 5:00 p.m.

Students who are working with Mr. Polley and Ms. Hill on the enrichment project with Mount Allison University, please meet on Friday at 3:30 in the Art Room. The meeting will end before 5:00 p.m.

The Varsity Girls Basketball team take on St. Macs today in the Sonic Dome at 5:30, and the Junior Varsity Girls have a game following also vs. St. Macs at 7:15 – come out and support your Sonics!

Today is T-Shirt Tuesday for Key Club members! It is Day 2 in the fabulous Key Club Week!

Dairytown Classic is looking for six guys and six girls to host at the tournament. If you are interested, please sign up in the office by Thursday. See Ms. Frazee if you have any questions.

The Grad Class potluck is Thursday at 5:30—sign up in the office and let us know what you are bringing!

Too School for Cool? Come out to check the newest club. We don’t have a name for it yet, but here’s what it is about: Each member will set a goal. Then, as a group, we will support each other to reach them. It’s in Mr. Scott’s room on Tuesdays at noon.

The next Grad Potluck is this Thursday at 5:30. Please sign up in the office and let us know what you are bringing.

Free lunch for Grade 9 is Tuesday at Trinity Anglican Church–walk in through the Fowler Avenue doors and on to the gym.

There will be a yearbook meeting for all staff Tuesday at 12:20 in Room 1121.

The Sussex Varsity Sonics captured the championship in the Miramichi basketball tournament! This Tuesday, the girls host St. Macs at 7:15 in the Sonic Dome. Good luck!

The Junior Varsity Girls Sonics also brought home a banner this weekend from the Little Potato Barrel Classic. The J. V.s play Tuesday at 5:30 at SRHS.

The Boys’ Hockey team play again this Wednesday at 8:30 against Hampton.

The audition schedule, beginning Wednesday, for the Variety Show is posted on the theatre doors.

Announcements for November 16, 2012

There will be a meeting after announcements in Ms. Leger’s room for anyone interested in high school curling.

Attention all students! Next week is Key Club Week. It is a student-led volunteer organization that reaches out into our community. We will be collecting items such as toothbrushes, shampoo, and other hygienic items during this week.

The next Grad Potluck is next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Please sign up in the office!

Announcements for November 15, 2012

Rehearsal with Ms. Smidt is cancelled for noon today.

The Junior Varsity Girls’ Sonics Basketball team downed the Simonds Seebees 62-35. Good luck, girls, as you travel to the Mini Potato Barrel Classic at Carleton North, tomorrow.

This Saturday, there will be a Boys’ Hockey game against the KV Crusaders at 7 p.m. Hope to see you there!

The last day (ever!) to order your grad wear is today at noon with Ms. Gillies from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.

R3volve 2026 will meet in the cafeteria today during lunch.

There will be a free lunch for Grade 9 students on Tuesday, November 20, at Trinity Anglican Church at lunchtime. Kraft Dinner with a hotdog and dessert is on the menu. Walk through the Fowler Avenue doors and into the gym.

There will be an information session on Tuesday, November 20, during Period 2 in Room 1118 on UNB’s Renaissance College’s leadership Bachelor degree program.
