WELCOME TO THE LAST DAY OF REGULAR CLASS OF THE 2010/2011 SCHOOL YEAR!!!! WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN!!!!

The list of students who are in Outdoor Pursuits next year is posted on the office window.

Any grads who have not paid any of their fees may do so in the office. Prom tickets are available from Mme Bonnell-Walsh until Friday the 10th.

All Library books and materials out on loan are now overdue! They must be returned to the library right away. Lost books must be paid for before receiving your report card. Overdue fines do not have to be paid until next year.

There was a yearbook committee meeting, a drag team meeting, a football meeting, and a safe grad meeting today at noon.

There was a varsity girls volleyball team meeting, and an outgoing student council meeting today at noon.

Bantam/Midget Girls Softball practice tonight from 6:00 to 7:30pm at Carr Field. COME ON OUT! WE NEED MORE PLAYERS!

There was a Tech Club meeting and an Improv meeting today at noon.

A silver necklace was misplaced last Thursday, June 2 in the Phys. Ed. area. A reward is being offered if returned to the office.

There will be a short debriefing meeting for the yearbook committee on Thursday at 12:15 in room 1121.

Anyone needing to buy prom tickets must do so before Friday. Tickets can be purchased from Mme Bonnell-Walsh at noon hour only!

Anyone interested in playing BANTAM or HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL in the fall, please sign up on the sheet outside of Mr. Coughlan’s room 1128. This includes ALL grade 9, 10 or 11 students from this year. There also will be an information meeting for Football on Thursday June 9th at 12:20 in Mr. Coughlan’s room. If you are serious about playing football in the fall, YOU MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING!

Prom tickets can be purchased from Mme Bonnell-Walsh any day this week at noon hour. Please do not see her during breaks. Tickets must be purchased by this Friday!

Sussex Elementary School is looking for committed, reliable volunteers who would be willing to give an hour of their time each week to mentor an elementary school child. Volunteering and helping others can be very rewarding. If you are interested in such an opportunity, please see Mrs. Byers in the Guidance Centre.

Please keep in mind that new scholarships are arriving weekly. Do not miss out on any opportunities. Keep checking the descriptions on the Guidance Wiki page, and pick up the applications in the Guidance Centre.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE TEEN SNACK & YACK…THIS THURSDAY FROM 3:30PM-5:30PM…AT THE HIGHER LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE, 594 MAIN STREET. COME ON OUT AND HAVE A FREE MEAL WITH PASTOR PHIL HUTCHINGS.

Just a reminder that there will be a student leadership team meeting after school from 3:40 to 5:00.

Encounters with Canada interviews will take place tomorrow, June 7th. The interview itself will last 10 minutes and you will be given an appointment from in your advisory. Due to the overwhelming interest in Encounters this year, applicants had to be shortlisted. Students born in 1994 will be interviewed. If you want to check you appointment time, it is posted on the Guidance Centre door.

Cameron Rust and Melissa DeWinter who are representatives from JD Irving Ltd. Will be here on Tuesday June 7th to speak to those students who are interested in a career in the forestry industry. If you are interested please sign up in the Workroom today to be a part of the presentation which will be held on Tuesday June 7th at 12:30 in Mrs. Byers office.

Any students interested in helping build the dance floor for the prom, please see Mme Bonnell-Walsh.

There was a prom committee meeting and a Student Relay for Life team meeting today at noon.

Due to technical difficulties during our yearbook signing, we were unable to give away the prizes we had. The following students won a gift certificate for a pizza from Greco – Miranda Jones, Zach Folkins, Shawn Smith and Emily Hawthorn. Jordan Ricketson won a car repair kit and Dallas Steen won a water bottle. Please see Mme Betts in room 1121 to pick up your prizes.

SRHS was made proud this weekend as some of our students took part in the 8th Annual Step In Time Dance school’s year end recital. Well done to – Jaymi Breau, Ashley Foote, Kendra Graham, Breagha McPhee, Samantha Tabor, Caija Watkins, Kendal Bacon, Laurel Corbett, Dominique Hache, Samantha Keating, Hilary Keith, Micah MacLennan, Sarah McFarlane, Hilary Pearson, Adena Peters, Geertje Pijnenburg, Jamie Richardson, Courtney Seymour, Mackenzie Stockford, Aimee Hill, Brooke Johnson, Shawna McNeil, Brittany O’Donnell, Lauren Stockdale and Bailey White.

Band Students – Mrs. Smidt has information on UNB Music Camps for this summer.

Cameron Rust and Melissa DeWinter who are representatives from J. D. Irving, Limited will be here on Tuesday, June 7th to speak to those students who are interested in a Career within the Forestry Industry.

Encounters with Canada applications are due tomorrow, Friday, June 3rd. Please pass your application in to Mrs. Byers or Mrs. Ross. Applications may be shortlisted depending on number of applicants, and interviews are tentatively booked for Tuesday, June 7th.

Opportunity Scholars Program – Grade 11 male students who are interested in participating in the pilot project with Mount Allison University should speak to Mrs. Ross or Mrs. Byers by Friday, June 3rd.

There were 30 yearbooks left! Some were likely sold but if you didn’t get yours yet check with Mme Betts. Bring your $55 with you so you don’t miss out if there are any left.

There was a Prom committee meeting, a Safe Grad meeting and a Theatre Arts students meeting today at noon.

The Sonics JV Rugby team defeated the JV Belleisle Bears by a score of 21-17 last night in Belleisle. Mitch Folkins led the way with two tries and Mike Phillips added one. Bryce Worden had three converts as well. Great job boys!!!

There was a varsity girls soccer meeting today at noon.

We need a couple of Grads to read at the Baccalaureate Service on Sunday, June 19th. If you are interested please submit your name to Mrs. Smidt.

A reminder to all rugby players that we a playing in Belleisle tonight. Please meet at the Four Corners after school.
