Next week, May 29th to June 4th, is disability Awareness Week. We need to be mindful of the challenges people with disabilities face on a daily basis. There are 130,00 people with disabilities in New Brunswick. In addition to realizing what may be difficult, we should also recognize the things people with disabilities have done and can accomplish. The theme for this year is “Yes, we can!” Next Friday, June 3rd, Sonics will be taking part in the province wide Walk and Roll. At the beginning of the noon hour, the Walk and Roll will begin. Everyone who takes part for 15 minutes of walking or rolling in a wheelchair is eligible to fill out a ballot to win a prize. Let’s see how many Sonics will be out to support Disability Awareness Week.
