Please congratulate the yearbook staffers when you meet one – they have completed your 2012 yearbook and it looks great! You’ll be able to see the final product in 2 months. Didn’t order yours yet? There are still a few copies left. Bring your $55 next week and yearbook staff will visit advisories to sell the remainder – first come first served until they are gone. Don’t miss out!

There is no SRHS band practice after school both today and next week. We will meet again after Easter and the Spring musical is over.

The SRHS Lady Sonics varsity volleyball team host Simonds High School at 6:00 in the Sonic Dome. Come on out and support your Sonics! Good Luck Ladies!

After a couple of close calls in the three years prior to this the Tropics finally defeated the Faculty Flyers 4-3 in overtime to win the Intramural Ball Hockey title. The Tropics got goals from Brett Norrad, Matt Allen with two and the overtime winner from Blake Kyle to take down the defending champs. Great job Tropics!

Anti-tobacco fact of the day – Ten years after quitting smoking, a person’s risk of lung cancer and heart disease returns to that of a non-smoker. So Sonics, quit today for a much healthier future!

A reminder to all students – homework club is every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Resource and Methods Department.

The ball hockey intramurals finals are set. The Faculty Flyers advanced again by defeating Greased Lightning 7-3 and the Tropics upset Biebs and the Boys 6-5 with Blake Kyle scoring the game winning goal at the buzzer. On Monday the final will be at 12:35 to see if the Faculty Flyers can continue their dominance by winning their fourth title in five years or is the Tropics can continue with their upset magic.

Enjoy the beautiful summer-like weather everyone!

All students who apply to take Outdoor Pursuits 110 next year need to pick up a teacher referral form in the office. Give this form to a teacher to fill in and the teacher will get the form back to Mr. Barton. If you do not have a form you will not be considered for the course.

Anti-tobacco fact of the day – Cigarettes have tons of harmful chemicals in them, including ammonia (found in toilet cleaner), carbon monoxide (found in car exhaust) and arsenic (found in rat poison). Now ask yourself….is it worth the risk?

Attention all Grade 11 students wishing to sign up for Co-Op Education 120. There will be a meeting at 12:30pm in Mrs. Wilson’s room on Thursday March 22nd. Please attend to be informed about the new application process for Co-Op next year.

Congratulations to the SRHS Lady Sonics Hockey team for winning the final of the Sussex Female Hockey tournament by beating Simonds High School 4-0 on Saturday. Kaleigh Robertson posted the shutout in her final game as a Sonic. Annika Bobbitt, Morgan Johnston, Morgan Robinson, and Kelsey Jack had a great game to finish off their high school hockey career. Maddy Urquhart led the way offensively with a pair of goals.

On Friday of last week the Lady Sonics played a great game against the Fredericton Black Cats in the first round of the NBIAA Provincial Female Hockey tournament, but could not find the back of the net. Although we had scoring opportunities we lost the game 3-0 to FHS.

Did you happen to find a purple blackberry curve? If so, please bring it to the school office. A reward is being offered.

All boys rugby players are reminded that practice will be at 8pm this week in the gym.

Anti-tobacco fact of the day – Nicotine, one of the main ingredients in cigarettes, is a poison.
